Had a checkup at the OBGYN today to check my BP. It's still running high, so I may have to up my medication for awhile, but the doctor said that it is normal for it to take 4-6 weeks for pregnancy induced hypertension to subside. She didn't seem too worried about it, so that was a relief. Also got the tape off of my incision...you can hardly tell that anything happened there! Amazing!
OK...please don't take this as bragging because I certainly didn't DO anything to lose the weight except give birth, but I've lost 20 pounds in a week and a half! Whoa! No wonder I'm hungry all the time!
Strange...today is Betsy's due date! It is crazy to think that I could still be pregnant with her! I'm so glad I'm not! :) (Although I was sleeping when I was pregnant...ahhh, sleep, how I loved you. I will miss you, my old friend.) :p

Betsy Bathtime
Betsy got her first bath in her very own baby tub today. After the initial shock of being a bit cold wore off she was calm and alert and seemed to enjoy her first real bath! :) What a good girl!

Happy Birthday, Betsy!
As of a half hour ago, our little girl is a whole week old! It is much nicer to be sitting in front of my computer, eating cereal, while Betsy hangs out with Daddy, than to be where I was last week at this time...in the recovery room! (Although, that was a special time of getting to know our brand new girl!)
Here are a few highlights of Betsy's first week:
Lots and lots of cuddle time with Grandma and Grandpa (who had to leave today...SOB!)
Her first trip to the pediatrician...has a bit of a sore throat already! :(
Met Uncle Joel and Aunt Wendy and had my first bath at home attended by Mommy, Grandma, and Aunt Wendy
An evening outing to Reed's Lake to listen to the water and cuddle with Mommy and Daddy
Her umbilical stump fell off today...diaper changes are much easier now!
Here are some pictures to keep all you Betsy fans happy! :)
