I haven't actually blogged for so long and now Betsy is doing so many new things that I can't remember them all! I can't believe that just a year ago this week we were preparing for her birth and now she's sitting on the living room floor watching Sesame Street and dancing and laughing!
Here are a few of the new things Betsy has been doing in the last few weeks:
She learned to clap (all of a sudden, while watching country music videos...Aunt Wendy will be proud!)
She loves to dance and has pretty good rhythm for a little tyke!
She can stack blocks on top of each other and put small bowls inside bigger bowls.
She likes to eat cardboard...not the best new talent.
She can now put the little balls into the holes on her Rock and Roar Dinosaur all by herself.
She hugs us or her stuffed animals and goes "Awwww" to show her love.
She likes to kiss.
Unfortunately she also likes to bite and has started to say no and throw things when she gets frustrated.
She loves to look at pictures of babies and loves other kids (although she shows her joy rather violently with poking and smacking that usually sends her playmates running!)
She tries to brush her hair with my hair brush and then tries to brush my hair too.
She knows that hats go on your head and practices putting them on and taking them off.
She blows raspberries and does the funny flip your lip and make blubbing sounds thing (what is that called?) She imitates loud motorcycles and trucks by doing raspberries.
She waves goodbye when our neighbors pull their cars out of their driveways.
She loves to have her teeth brushed.
She likes to shake her head "no" and say "Oh, no!" a lot...unfortunately.
The loves of her life right now are Mommy, Daddy, breastfeeding (sigh!), her stuffed chimp, her singing Easter Bunny, our dog and cat (they aren't reciprocating much though), climbing everything, Elmo, chewing on everything (including the doorjamb the other day!), splashing in a big bowl of water out in the yard, ants (actually bugs of any kind are great), and anything she can eat without aid (no more baby food for our girl!)
I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting...she's growing so fast! She's pretty amazing!
